Going Green

There’s a problem with our planet’s environment. We realize that our data centers’ emissions and power consumption contribute to the problem. While GNT Solutions doesn’t claim to have the absolute answer, we are committed to contributing our part toward the larger picture. It’s going to take industry leaders like GNT Solutions to step up and admit there are much more environmentally friendly ways of doing things.

Working with partners like NativeEnergy and The Green Grid, GNT Solutions is diligently working toward the goal of being a greener company. We know it’s not something that can happen overnight, but by addressing the problem and educating our customers and employees, we are taking the first step toward a cleaner tomorrow.

We are focusing our efforts in three categories:

  1. Company Conservation
  2. Customer Offerings
  3. Employee Education

What can GNT Solutions as a company do for the environment? GNT Solutions has always leveraged energy efficient hardware and equipment in the data center. GNT Solutions recently introduced the latest generations of Intel low voltage processors, which allow customers to generate power savings when right-sizing their configuration.

GNT Solutions has joined The Green Grid, a consortium of information technology companies and professionals seeking to improve energy efficiency in data centers around the globe.

GNT Solutions also has a handful of internal programs in their corporate offices including:

Recycling bins located throughout the building for plastic, aluminum and paper

GNT Solutions will be replacing all non-biodegradable products used in the break rooms like foam cups and plates to more biodegradable ones

What can GNT Solutions customers do?

GNT Solutions will work with NativeEnergy to invest in renewable energy projects to offset carbon emissions produced by customer servers managed within GNT Solutions data centers.

What can GNTSol’ers do?

In 2009 GNT Solutions will hold its first “Green Day”, a company-wide fair aimed at educating “GNTSole’ers” about conservation, recycling and other eco-friendly programs offered around the city and state.
